Hi everyone and thanks Brandon. My name is Paul Wong. I started off in Brunei, grew up in Hong Kong and studied for a degree in Victoria BC. Art was shunned where I grew up. Even in art class my teacher accused me of cheating. Yet inside my mind and in secret I made all kinds of art. I only wished I could have had more freedom. Just before I received my degree I started watching two spray paint artist brothers on Victoria’s inner harbor. I had never seen that. Right away I realized I could do it. I watched their techniques as well as going on the Internet and saw that there are many objects and scenes that are common amongst spray paint artists. Two years ago when I started I was already wishing to develop my own “stuff.” I experimented with stencils and scenes that include earth creatures like pandas and other wildlife. I also tried to create new techniques of paper folding and using anything around the house as tools for effects. My best creative time was last summer (2006) when I had time off and joined the weekend market on Victoria’s beautiful inner harbor. I love to spray paint live now and I always want to be in public with my art either selling or creating. Please feel free to criticize my art. Hope you like!
