Well, My name is Andrew and I live in Idaho. I'm 37 years old and drive truck for a living. I am a total sci fi geek, so when I discovered space painting, I was hooked. I discovered it on youtube trying to find tips for using the spray paint tool on MS Paint when I ran across spray art for beginners on. I watched that video and was completely amazed. I stayed up watching videos for about 4 hours that night. A week or so later I went out and bought some supplies, and by mistake bought matted poster board instead of one side being glossy. So my first three paintings turned out flat and a bit muddy. I found a local store that sold the right poster board for dang near dirt cheap and bought up all the sheets they had left. Well, That was the middle of February, 2010, and her it is the end of March, and to date as of today, or Saturday the 28th, i now have 67 paintings done. I did one for my boss, I did one as a request for a friend in Olkahoma, and did one by request for my dispatcher. My 11th painting was done as a practice for getting a few planets down and I stenciled in a small enterprise for my pops who like star trek. A few days later I went to a friends house to show him how to do this. I did one, and then let him do one. His neighbors came over and were amazed and wanted to purchase some. So I spent 4 hours making about 9 paintings and sold them for what I thought was a fair price since I was just starting and my friend sold his first one as well. I have been asked to do more paintings for other people and soon I have a 16' by 4 1/2' to do for my great aunt for her back drop for her fair booth. I also have a possible commision to do a Menu Board for a local coffee and sandwich shop. I spent the last week on my vacation running around, (driving) talking to various people, getting ideas for "marketing" and such and landed at a local art studio where one of the owners was completely amazed by the space paintings and wants me to join an art guild, and eventually start teaching classes and displaying at coming art shows. I've done verious art forms, water colors in school, took art class in 7th grade, drew band logos for band name Ideas I had, tried my hand at doing comics and graphic novel images, nothing published to date. But my best so far was the cars I designed for my characters. I carved one out of a 4x4 block of wood, and did the other one but never finished it yet. I have spent numerous hours on MS paint making simple land scapes and building scapes and a short comic strip as well. But when I found out a person could explore the universe with spray paint in five minutes, I was hooked right away. I'm looking forward to exploring the rest of the universe for as long as I can and am now having a much better appreciation for art. I'm also wishing I would have paid more attention in art class now.
