Hey everyone (if anyone reads these!)
My name is Logan, and I'm a California Boy. I like to think of the Bay Area as my home, but currently reside in the Central Valley.
I ran into this art as I was selfishly searching for what I should buy myself for Christmas (not something I normally do, I just thought it would be neat this year). So I found a few videos of spray paint art and space painting and decided that this is definitely something I need to do.
Some of the art I have seen from you guys is seriously breathtaking.
I ordered DVDs and some supplies from Brandon (who is amazingly quick to respond, and seems very helpful) and they are in the mail. I'll be heading down to my local shops to get my other supplies later this week.
I'm really pressed for space, and I also like privacy (not a big fan of people watching me work :) ) so I'm thinking about setting up a shed in my side-yard to paint in. The only thing I'm concerned about is ventilation...as it'll probably be one of those cheap metal sheds without windows. But If I wear a mask and keep the doors open it should be ok right? Anyway, I'm going to make a bigger post about that later.
I seriously have a rambling problem :)
So, beyond the newly found love of spray paint, I am a doula, childbirth educator, and aspiring midwife. So I'm a guy trying to pave the way for other guys in a career that is pretty much filled by 99% women. But I love a challenge :)
I'm not very artsy at all. I can't draw, wasn't even very good with play dough as a kid. I've never been able to really "let go" and create things...but I'm good at watching what other people do and copying them. That's why I loved the tutorials so much :)
I'm really hoping that I can copy other people, and get comfortable enough with my own skills, and the paintings they produce, to be able to create my own techniques and awesome pieces.
Because if I start this, and actually continue it to the point where I'm doing it on a regular basis, it will be the first time I've followed through on something I wanted to do :)
If I ever get to that point, where I really am creating art in my eyes, I will seriously love you all forever.
And ever.
Favorite Movie: Fight Club Favorite Animal: I just like them all I think, but ferrets and tigers are towards the top of the list Favorite Ice Cream: Pralines and Cream Favorite Food: I'm really a steak and potatoes kind of guy, but I really like soup also Favorite Cheese: Oh they are all good. Especially outside of the US.
Ok, I'll stop typing now :)
