Question one, has anyone every successfully created a grassy field? I tried yesterday using the inside of a sock...it turned out decently but not entirely the way I wanted.

Question two, has anyone ever done lightning? I tried yesterday also, using the same technique as drawing branches, and it horribly didn't work.

Question three, what is the secret to creating clouds? I seem to get really thick clouds, they don't look light an fluffy...they look like paint blotches.

Duh! *slaps forehead* straching in the lightning! I had used the drippy posterboard technique for branches. Why didn't I think of that? Oh yeah, no pallette knife...

lol Drizzt :) A pallet knife (the small triangle kind) is about $6.00 at a Michael's Craft Store. Skip the Latte tomorrow and buy the knife. You won't regret it!

Yeah, two problems.
1. I live 90 miles from the closest Michael's

and 2. I don't drink coffee or latte's or anything with coffee in it. Can't stand the stuff. Oh well....

you could use a pen or a razor instead of a pallet knife too and for clouds go to youtube Brandon has a video showing how to do them

Or you could use a guitar pick like Brandon suggests in the begginer DVD...

For grass, i have used a tiny piece of natural or synthetic sponge. I spray a couple of different flavors of green and yellow on a piece of magazine paper. Then lightly tap into both colors. Then dab the sponge in a line to create the lay of the land. Then just do this several more times, varying your colors slightly.

Heres an example.
