IF WE GET AT LEAST 10 NON-MEMBERS TO COMPETE IN THIS CONTEST, BRANDON HAS AGREED TO GIVE A "FREE MEMBERSHIP" TO THE WINNER OF THE CONTEST. THATS RIGHT! YOU CAN WIN A FREE MEMBERSHIP AT SPACEPAINTINGS.COM WITH ALL ITS BENEFITS! THIS IS WHERE YOU CAN ASK ANY QUESTIONS, MAKE SUGGESTIONS, ETC, REGARDING THE NEW NON-MEMBER'S MONTHLY PAINTING CONTEST. ALL DISCUSSIONS REGARDING THE CONTEST SHOULD BE POSTED HERE TO KEEP THEM ORGANIZED, AND NOT CLUTTER THE GENERAL DISCUSSION BOARD.
3. "VOTE FOR THE JUNE 2009 MONTHLY CONTEST HERE."
THIS IS WHERE YOU WILL CAST YOUR VOTE FOR THE WINNER OF THE CONTEST. MEMBERS AND NON-MEMBERS CAN VOTE FOR THE WINNER! Trashhat, your entry is fine, no stipulations were made on size or quanity of rings, only that there has to be a ringed planet in the painting. Good luck!
We only need 8 more entries... :)
REMEMBER... ONLY ENTRIES HERE. ALL OTHER POSTS regarding the contest should be in the "talk about" board next to the enter/view button on the general discussion page. It just keeps this board uncluttered so when people post entries and vote, there is less distraction. Good luck everyone!

Okay here is my entry:
It's 11x14 and I have to be honest, this was my VERY first planet ring... As soon as the contest was announced and I heard the topic of best planet with a ring, this is what popped in my head. It's not perfect, but it was my first idea and my first ring, so I felt it best to submit this one. :-) Enjoy!

XDBen, How did you shade those mountains? It turned out great. I'm guessing its a dif color of paint?

This might not be the right place for me to say this as it is supposed to be for entries only however Pearlguy there does not seem to be a ring on any of those planets. The contest calls for entries to have at least one planet with a ring.

Hi PearlGuy, I took the liberty of posting your pic using the instructions listed at the bottom of the "post pictures" page. Take a peek to see how I did it, and just ask if you still have questions.
As Trashhat pointed out, the topic for this months contest calls for a planet ring to be included somewhere in the painting to qualify as an entry. Looking good tho. Keep them coming. Marty

Well, the weather is against me, so I am just going to have to post my first attempt at my bid ring. I was going to try again today, but the clouds rained me out. I still really like this idea and I hope to be able to do the painting that is trapped in my head. Good luck to everyone in the contest! There is some real talent here!
