I was reading an article about a teenager that turns pens on a lathe, and sells them and is using that money to save for college, and it got me thinking. I have a little girl who is very artistic, and was wondering if she could do live shows in town and make some money.
So I guess my question is, does anyone really make money doing this? How much do you guys make on a typical night? Or do you make more by doing commissioned work?
Thanks in advance Brian

Yes, people can and do make money with this art. It all depends on the level of commitment. Doing live art shows here in Denver, I have made anywhere from $0 - $575 in a day. It all depends on the weather and the number of people whose attention you can grab.
I make some money doing commission work but it is only about 5% of my income.
Could we see some photos of her work to assess the value?
My work can be seen at www.mizuarts.etsy.com

Newbie here. What got me interested in this kind of art was viewing work from you guys. It takes my breath away. My question is how do I properly stack, transport or mail my work properly? I use Rustoleum and some Krylon. Will it stick together and pull the paint off or scratch if they touch? Remember, I have no clue. So, all help is appreciated. Thanks.

Newbie here too. Jaquied, for the answer you should check the DVD "Step by Step" by Brandon McConnell sold on this website, I think it's all explained. I'm waiting for this DVD, so can't be sure.
