Hi, so I ordered Brandon's CDs, and had all the paint and stuff sitting there waiting so I decided to try some trial paintings. The first one is by far my favourite, I screwed up a lot on the other two, but I still like em. Can't wait for the CD's to get here so I can really get started!

First Painting:

Third (I tried attempting land.. I think it turned out decent for not know what the heck I was doing..)
3rd

All three for the day:

NOTE: These are kevojy's paintings.

I posted your pics FULL SIZE, so we can see the details.

Welcome to the obsession! These are looking good. You will be amazed how quickly you pick up techniques with Brandon's CD's. Hope to see more soon! Marty

Thanks, yeah I was pretty happy with them. One thing that bugs me with the land one is that the planet features look kind of fuzzy. Close up it kind of looks cool actually, but it would be nice to get nice clean lines. Any ideas? The rest don't seem to have that problem.

Don't be too hard on yourself, just keep practicing. Some fuzziness is to be expected when just starting out. It gets easier to get clean lines, crisp details, and lighting/highlights as you keep painting. Looks like you are already on the right track. Just keep at it.
You might wanna pick up a palette knife for when Brandon's CD's arrive so you can scrape in highlights, trees, and such. It will add dimension and depth to your paintings. Hope to see more soon. Marty

Thanks, and no. I ended up getting it at Staples. I was out buying paint and staples was closer. I'll take a look at Zellers when I need more though.

practice is key-perhaps adding a star,or a planet fading into the background to give the painting more depth-nice shading and textures with the large planet.-you could add some wisps ofcolour in the sky for variety,,looks like you are gettting the general idea
