Had time to paint one this evening. This is what I came up with. Colors are different. I had run out of clear yesterday so I had to get some more today. Weather is warm, so I have to rewet the paint regularly. Comments welcome. Marty

Yeah, I don't know about those mountain colors. But have you ever been too far into a painting to change it by the time you go "what the heck did I do?" The mountain colors are different, but I just went with it. ---------- 99GT (Marty) Visit my web page http://www.myspacepaintings.com/Ninety9GT

I love the colours man, they realy work for me. The colours and the water both work together, but I think you need some more subtlety when it comes to seperating the mountains and water. The easiest thing to add would be some fog, but I'm wondering weather you could add a line of trees or something in there?? The mountains just seem to stop to abruptly, anyone else agree with me here, or can add a suggestion. (( I personally enjoy looking at your work when you post and can tell the passion you have for your art, but I just feel your missing your mark on a couple of pieces, but only by things that you could change very easily. I'm being hard with the comment, but I just want to push you to the next level, hope you understand.

I love the colors on the mountains. Gives it a more sci-fi feel. It also makes them pop. Your waterfall in the background looks great!

Shikey I am all good with your critiquing my work. I am trying to apply many elements into each painting, and appreciate others perspectives. I can see how a little mist or tree line could tie things together. I will keep that in mind. I also want to try throwing some reflective colors into my very white water textures. So many ideas, so little time. LOL.
Thanks all for taking the time to look and comment on my work. Marty ---------- 99GT (Marty) Visit my web page http://www.myspacepaintings.com/Ninety9GT

Marty, I'm all digging the tree work up both sides of the picture. Both the little trees with the foliage on them. . . .and also the big "dead" tree with great bark work that kind of sneaks into the left edge of the picture. Also, the little foreground details help bring this to life. And yeah. . those trippy colors on the mountains! This is one of those alternate universes where the mountains are all made of copper sulfate and rainbow sherbet rather than basalt and granite like here. I love it!

The colours are looking great and the composition too. I agree with Shikey on the mountains, just a little fog would do the trick Marty. Nice foliage and excellent water texture. My only critique is about the 2 small trees in the foreground which seem to be sitting on top of the water. Other than that, another great painting. Keep up the good work Marty!

Marty did you do all of your water with a piece of posterboard?

searcyc1,
Yes, all the water textures were done with the edge of a piece of posterboard, including the falls. I just tear down a small piece to the approximate size I need for the water and spray some white paint onto another scrap of posterboard and go at it. :) ---------- 99GT (Marty) Visit my web page http://www.myspacepaintings.com/Ninety9GT
